White Lightning

Description

White Lightning is a forgotten classic from the '80s. Start off on a bullet quartz dike through a roof to jug rest. From here, it’s sustained technical crimping on vertical to slightly overhanging face. Get another good rest, and don’t blow it on the techy slab moves to the anchor. This climbs much better than it looks with solid rock quality throughout.

Location

This is on the vertical to slightly overhanging face with

Beyer's Rib

to the left and

Drive-by Diking

to the right. It shares the same start as

Drive-by Diking

but goes left off the ledge up the quartz dike.

Protection

12-14 draws with 0.4 BD for getting to the first bolt and a 0.3 BD or blue Metolius between the 3rd and 4th bolt. There are chain anchors at the top. A 60m rope barely gets you down.
