- Edit (TBD)
To the left, to the left
Description
Go to the left of the crack and climb the face. Easiest is to go a little to the left as you get up around 3 feet off of the ground, then come back to the right a little bit. There's a bit of contact with the tree as you climb. Try not to mess up the tree. At the top, watch out for a big rock (1 foot by 1 foot) after you've topped out. Seems a little unstable. Can come down around the back.
Location
Park in the upper parking lot of Martin Tudor Jurupa Hills Park. Park to the left of the upper parking lot, by the grassy park area to the left of the jungle gym. Walk directly west up over the grass to the little trail that cuts up to the main trail. The little shortcut trail is 10 feet long and intersects perpendicular to the bigger trail which runs north-south. Turn right on the bigger trail (north) and go 10 feet. The boulder will be on your left. A 15 foot boulder with a big crack running down the middle and a tree growing out of the top.
Protection
Crashpad and spotter needed. Could set up a top rope if you really wanted.
