Description

This is the bolt line furthest to the left on Wave Wall -- which I consider to be the entire stretch of rock across the road from Beachball Crag; not just that part that overhangs the roads and was chopped by UDOT. Tony Calderone in his 2017 guide to BCC refers to this area as "Water Crest." In any event, the route posted here is the bolted line mentioned in the post for

Climb What?

Surprisingly good for such a short line in a somewhat nasty place, this makes for a convenient and quick route to add to the tally for the early morning or late evening crew.

BTW, the 2017 Calderone BCC guide shows two bolted 5.9+ sport routes called "Water Crest" and "Water Fest" in what appears to be the same location as the route we climbed and posted here (but with no FA info). What we did is certainly not 9+, at least the line we climbed, but maybe we did something different or took too direct of a line.

Location

Far left (west) end of the Wave Wall. Park in the large pull-out that is to the left (west) of that part of the Wave that overhangs the road, bust through the willows toward the wall, and look to your left. The route is maybe 50 feet of what's been posted as the

Arete Route

.

Protection

Draws. Bolts rigged for lowering on top.
