Country Life

Description

Alex and I determined the long approach favored a "choose your own adventure"  to summit Arrowhead. Country Life offers eclectic style in a great setting. For what it's worth, we know as for P2 that someone had been there before us, two pitons were found with bail biners...we are certain it goes free. Otherwise, pitch 1 and everything behind the pins on pitch 2 felt quite raw.

Pitch 1: climb moderate terrain to an open book, and make delicate moves on thin/finger gear to gain the stemming section. Continue trending left out of the book through a layback/finger crack. Build a belay below the splitter above you on the left, 10a

Pitch 2: move off the block, and make subtle moves to gain the finger crack. There should be two pitons here (each had bail biners on our ascent). The flared finger crack eventually becomes a hand crack. Gain a ledge and belay, or continue to send the gnar up another hand crack as Alex did, and take 'er to the top!, 10+.

Protection

A double rack.
