Feet, Don't Fail Me Now

Description

This is the first 5.11 established in the SLV. It is a beautiful crack climb that rarely gets climbed. A hard to protect crux mantel at the first piece makes this route committing and a bit spicy. Pull the hard mantel, and enjoy crack climbing from fingers into the wide chimney up high.

Location

It is right where the Rock Garden meets the Carnero Creek Road. If you're looking from the road, it's on the right of the canyon mouth facing the road. It's the only route on the North aspect of the entrance area.

Protection

A trad rack with mostly thin gear with a few wide pieces for the top. I believe we used a black Totem cam to protect the mantel down low. Be careful with this piece as it's flared, and you will deck if it pops.
