Description
A mellow outing on a high formation. Not many Flatirons crags ascend to this height, and as this one stands with a summit, it may afford one of the best views around.
Climb up into the cleft between the two major 'horns' of rock, which are somewhat reminiscent of
Cadillac Crag's
features, in Eldo. Climb the acute dihedral and cracks on it's right-hand side to reach the cleft on the summit.
To descend, down-climb the route (this could be done down-leading) or rig an anchor to descend.
Location
This climb ascends the deep, west-facing cleft and cracks to the right of the cleft between the distinct Devil's Horns, a set of striking yellow fins on the rock ridge north of
Devil's Thumb
, and just south of the West side of the
Devil's Wings
.
Protection
Originally done free solo- it would appear to take a standard rack of cams to 3.5"
