Description
If you scramble down the back side of Donald Duck and are walking around the East side of the formation to return to your packs, you'll find this lovely hand crack just as you start to descend a short chimney scramble. Not worth the trip up just for this, but good fun to jump on if you're already on the Donald. Too bad it's so short.
Starting in the chimney, you may need a foot on the short wall behind you to get established in the crack. Throw a couple of great hand jams to surmount the low bulge and you will reach a stance on a small ledge. Then a couple more thin hands or layback moves lead to an awkward mantle finish. Short but sweet.
Location
Southeast corner of the Donald Duck formation, uphill from the Northeast Corner and about 20 feet left (uphill) of The Cha Cha.
Protection
3 or 4 pieces in the hand to thin hands size. Gold and red camalots are great. Anchor with long cord around boulders up top, or 0.75 and 1.0 C4s can also be used to back it up. You will likely want your belayer down and to climber's right, below the chimney scramble.
