Description

Winter winds, avalanches and ice have created a vast

blown out, bowl of snow and rock.

  • A passage through the Triple Glacier Route will be neck deep in the natural world.

  • The very top of the route is usually shared with the SW Coulior and is very enjoyable.

  • Beauty begins once one leaves the east shore of Jackson Lake reservoir, wonder really kicks in at the inlet of Moran Canyon and Moran Bay.

  • Enter the domain of the Bear, Moran Canyon.

  • reach the avalanche, encounter rock and snow and scramble and hike toward the summit sandstone.

Location

Northwest side of Mt Moran above Moran Canyon above Moran Bay, Jackson Lake, GTNP Wyoming.

Protection

Good shoes or good skis, bear precautions, snow sticks, snow spikes, short rope, a couple of thin pieces, food, clothing and shelter. Boat.
