Crackula

FA Scott Loomis 1993
CREATED
UPDATED

Description

Overhanging thin hand to wide fist crack climbing a phallus of a tower.  No anchors on top.  When first climbed, a manhole sized patina plate was torn off the crack from the base, indicating a first ascent.  Would be a worthy and photogenic solo.  Lots or meaty crystals: you're probably going to want to tape up.

Location

It is visible when looking north up the valley from the hairpin on Hwy 395.  Located on the left side and rising at a 30 degree angle amongst the rocks around it.  The best approach is to drive in on a dirt road heading east from the Caltrans depot at the top of Conway Summit.

Protection

Gear to 4 inches
