The namesake problem of this area is mega classic and one of the best lines in the Poudre Canyon, if not the entire Front Range. Gandalf is committing with awesome movement on immaculate stone — all tucked away on a scenic mountainside.

Begin matched on the triangular pinch at head height. Summon your inner wizard for the first few moves on a slopey rail and up to the good sidepull. Decide where your hands go and make a big deadpoint to a good edge. Match, take a deep breath, and pull easier but tall moves to establish on the lip.

The Gandalf Boulder is huge and sits a little ways up the hill from the river, you can't miss it.
